PMR 446 is a short range licence free radio system. 

What does this mean ?

You can use handheld and some "base station type" equipment without the requirement for a licence, however range is limited by the power output of the unit, typically 500mw (1/10th the power of a licenced pmr handset). Antenna's are fixed to the radio and can not be changed to gain better performance.

The PMR446 system is however very useable for small companies and schools, small leisure centers, Door staff and open ground applications alike. Submersible versions are ideal for swimming pools and game keepers. We sell a lot of these with good reports.

The system has its limitations but this aside is a very practical cost effective solution to wireless communications. We also stock a good range of covert earpieces and lapel microphones.
